Don't Blame The Youth

You probably heard this, "these young kids today....." that's usually followed by something negative about the youth. It's not a new trend, for generations and maybe forever, people have been looking at the current state of the youth and seeing the flaws in them and not the causes of those flaws. There are many reasons for concern, particularly where it matters to me ( young Blacks). The youth today are consumed by bad music, manipulative corporate media, and devolutionary sexuality / education. On top of that, the adults are prosueing a culture that is counter to their own, seeking to continue propping up the same government that kidnapped our ancestors and continue to use us for the benefit of them and the destruction of our culture.

How do we, with the reality these kids face, look at them and scorn them like we are some non-Blacks, who get all our info bout Black people from the corporate media. I mean, some of us do, but I see many everyday, in our communities that do this. I can attest in my on day to day; even though I am 29yrs. old some people, more importantly, some Black people in my community, look at me like they do the young kids (good genes I guess) they cross the street, look at me in fear, or other spooky stuff. Cause they have a culture of fear they got from the people that benefit from their distruction.

Don't get me wrong, there are good reasons to have caution when dealing with some of the Black kids today and the youth bare some responsibility for that. But these kids where raised by someone and these parents had to have been raised. We are faced with a embedded problem in our culture that has taken on its oppressors mindset and we have passed that mindset down through the generations. From white peoples religions, to their economics. We have lost our own culture and many of us have no interest in getting it back. But for us who claim to be "awake" to this madness, have a responsibility to the youth.

And I know I've said we don't need every Black person and I still mean that, but we have a obligation to the young to be a sharp contrast to the status que of cow tailing to what ever is good on the american media giants agenda, being a pro Black choice for the kids to follow. We can't just be scared of these kids like everyone else is, they are not to be feared, cause they are simply kids who are misguided like many of us were at one point. Plus these kids are our best hope to bring about social change cause they have many of the skills from just living life in the information age and they are less likely to follow spook gods than their parents are. Its time to start investing in real education that helps get these kids some currency and gives them a chance to proactively effect all our futures.
