If we build a network geared towards pan african development people will come. There are many black people on the main stream social networks that have rejected the status quo that is western capitalism. They spend their time posting pics of past revolutionaries, beautiful black women with natural hair, calls for actions against injustices in our communities, & many other pro black post. That be fine & well if we didn't have bigger problems.

The main problem is we don't have an independent network void of non black influence, were we can freely express our opinion without fear of having our post deleted, or even our profiles banned. We spend so much time on these social media sites, allowing them to leverage our presence for advertisement. What do we get from this time other than a few new virtual friends? Yeah, some make an income, but think of how many more people could profit if the site was owned by us & the advisement revenue was paid to us.
It is natural to seek ownership of 1s own governance, it is illogical to think you can be free and work your whole life on the hope that you will save enough money to retire at an old age and then finally enjoy your life. We have all heard the horror stories of people working for companies for years, only to get laid off, have the company go bankruptcy and they lose their pensions. Don't get me wrong, i work a regular job like most others in this new black community. I have aspiration to be apart of a great co-op that changes the lives of my people; but im not about to quit my job on a hope. Side not: I've been homeless chasing my dreams and let me tell you; that shit is for the birds, it takes a special kind of person to persevere in that situation. So no im not telling people to up and quit the jobs and go hard with this idea, but to start to lay the ground work for the venture. What about those who try to go at it alone? I would argue that attempting to be independent of like minded people will prove to slow and even prevent your success. It takes a collective approach to solve massive problems.
This task will not be easy. We have to put our heads together and develop the platform, set up rules, and many other things. We will have to put in allot of work to make a venture like this a reality; but with anything worth having, much work is required. But this is not impossible and it is much needed. When are we gonna truly start taking control of our own lives. When are we gonna truly start working toward freedom. Today should be the day.
